THERE’S NEVER BEEN A BETTER TIME TO BUILD A BETTER US
SANDY ISLAND FAMILY CAMP IS A PART OF OUR HISTORY, OUR PRESENT AND OUR FUTURE
I have attended Sandy Island Camp since I was six weeks old. My mother, Roberta Delaney Gilmour began attending camp in the 1940's with my grandparents. I started dating my husband, Tim O'Hara in 2007 when I began volunteering at camp. Now we attend camp both as staff during the season and during weeks 3, 6 & 7 as campers with our children, Greysen (8) and Tucker (6).
Building a stronger community and a better us is a cause that is important to me. That’s why I am proud to volunteer and fundraise for the YMCA.
You know the challenges that we face in our community. People of all ages and backgrounds are struggling to reach their full potential. More and more children face seemingly insurmountable learning gaps. Families find it difficult to spend quality time together. Playing outside has become a rarity. And instead of seeing the income gap shrink, it seems all we do is watch it grow.
But where society falls short, the Y – and you and I can step in. Together we can make a difference in the lives of thousands of young people throughout Greater Boston who will turn to the Y for encouragement and support. Everything the Y does is in service of making us – as individuals and a community – better.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Y today in support of my efforts to strengthen community.
100% of every dollar donated to the YMCA’s annual campaign stays local. Your kind gift will build a better us by ensuring that the Y’s doors are open to all.
Together we can achieve so much more. Every gift makes a difference. Everyone has a role to play. Please join me and give today.
The Y. For a better you. For a better community. For a better us.™
