As many of you know, this year I made a pivot with my career and now work for the YMCA of Greater Boston's Overnight Camp full time!
I have always been a strong advocate of the work that happens at camp - especially overnight camp-because they support kids and teens during their most formidable years. Campers say "Camp has truly shaped me into the person I am today. It has helped me figure out who I am and gave me the strength I need to succeed and feel happy about the person that I am." Camp is inclusive, supports diversity and helps kids find their "happy place." Most importantly - we ensure that EVERY child who wants to come to overnight camp regardless of their families financial ability.
This year - we have partnered with some amazing organizations including the UP Education Network (http://www.upeducationnetwork.org/schools), METCO Inc. (https://metcoinc.org/), Roxbury Tenants of Harvard (https://www.missionpark.com/rth.htm), Department of Children and Families, the Boston Police Department, the Big Sisters Association of Greater Boston (https://www.bigsister.org/) as well as all 13 of our YMCA of Greater Boston Branches to identify campers who need the life-changing experience of camp. Because of this - we have seen an influx in request for scholarship support which is why I'm asking for your help.
Beginning April 1st through May 10th - I am asking you to consider supporting 144. 144 is number of CAMPERS we want to raise support for this spring to ensure we are able to say YES to each of these children. Please help us #Support144
100% of every dollar donated our annual campaign ensures that the camp experience is open to all and is tax-deductible. Thank you for your support!
