What It Means To Me

Growing up in a Y family, you begin to see the organization through a different lense. It was a second home growing up, where I learned to swim, try out gymnastics, ride horses, and meet people that were different than me. I would say the latter is what brought me to where I am today. I was engulfed in cultures unlike my own and could not wait to get to afterschool or camp and play with my friends. I learned about diversity and that no two people were exactly the same. I also learned what it meant to be someone's friend. The YMCA is more than just a place children go for sports or swimming, it's an opportunity for a child to grow and succeed. It is with great pleasure and pride that I work for this incredible organization. As much as the days can leave you exhausted, I know I put it all on the table.

Why Give

Our Annual Reach Out Campaign does so much good for so many families and members. All donations will support the Waltham YMCA's Annual Fund, which helps the Y provide financial assistance to our families and in turn offers their children enriching, lifelong experiences. Just think, your donation could help a child learn to swim, attend one of our summer programs, or enhance their overall development by engaging in activities that strengthen their mind, body, and spirit!

The YMCA of Greater Boston is building the foundations of community by fostering relationships. With the help of volunteers, neighbors, individuals, children and families, we ensure that everyone in our community has the skills they need to be healthy, confident and connected to others.
